Open screw compressors are the result of an in-depth research and development effort from the Frascold design team in order to guarantee extremely high levels of performance, reliability, and efficiency for applications at medium temperatures with low compression ratios.

Frascold Open MT Series screw compressors have bearings that feature a high degree of rigidity, enabling highly-accurate operation with excellent resistance to radial and axial loads—even with the use of ammonia. The innovative configuration of the compressors also protects the screws from any counter rotation which could happen when shutting down the system.

The series offers a broad range of cooling capacities for a wide set of applications, including marine and industrial refrigeration, process cooling, heat pumps, and air conditioning. Every compressor that rolls off our line has been designed specifically to ensure high-performance operation with the use of ammonia, hydrocarbons, traditional HFCs, and low GWP refrigerants.

The high-quality mechanical seal on Frascold open screw compressors provides for an extremely quiet, vibration-free operation, perfectly compatible with any type of refrigerant chosen and under a variety of different working conditions. The extremely quiet operation is also ensured by the special bearings mounted on the compressor, which also increase the load coefficient and contribute to longer operational life.
