The ATEX-certified Frascold CX Air Series is perfectly capable of high performance in areas classified as at risk of explosion (Zone 2).
This series is uniquely suited for applications with high compression ratios, such as with air-cooled units.
CX Air - ATEX series
With an internationally recognized ATEX certification, the CX Air series has met high standards for quality and safety. These units feature compact screw compressors, which are excellent for various types of use. Developed by Frascold after exhaustive design and testing to discern the perfect blend of high-quality components, the CX Air Series is engineered using cutting-edge technology in our state-of-the-art facilities. The series features excellent fluid dynamics, ultimate reliability, and whisper-quiet operation. The construction and safety features built into these compressors allow them to be used with hydrocarbons and in areas that are classified as being at risk of explosion (Zone 2).
Of note, the capacity control that’s produced through the hydraulic movement of the slide valve helps provide energy efficiency under any load. The models in the series can also function with an economizer and/or external inverter, to supply even greater adaptability, efficiency, and energy savings.
Our very own 3-stage oil separation system supports minimum oil carryover towards the system which helps to maintain a consistent level of optimal lubrication and a high degree of operating efficiency.

Frascold, Cagnasso Frigoriferi, and Cantine Capetta toasted a fruitful collaboration with the construction of an advanced R290 chiller, capable of ensuring a cooling capacity of 581kW at 50Hz, obtained thanks to two Frascold semi-hermetic screw compressors.
